Geo was a brand of small cars and SUVs which, beginning in 1989, was marketed by General Motors and sold through Chevrolet dealerships in the United States. The Geo brand continued through the 1997 model year, after which the remaining models joined the Chevrolet lineup.
The 1990s saw a reduction in consumer interest for the economy compact market and the last vehicle of the former Geo line, the Tracker, was discontinued in 2004.
The Geo Metro was well-known for the milage per gallon it provided and has recently seen a resurgance in popularity in the used car market.
